Captain Anthony was awarded the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

Captain Anthony was the co-pilot of a C-46D Commando transport with the 34th Troop Carrier Squadron, 315th Troop Carrier Wing. On November 15, 1952, his aircraft was transporting personnel from Kangnung Airfield, South Korea (K-18) to Pohang Airfield, South Korea (K-3). It crashed into the Sea of Japan shortly after takeoff killing all 25 servicemen on board. He was presumed dead on November 26, 1952. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
