More than 3,000 people gathered at Netherlands American Cemetery for the 2017 Liberation Concert.

Netherlands American Cemetery hosted the South Netherlands Philharmonic on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 3 p.m. for the annual liberation concert. The theme for this year's concert was "The Beginning." This theme allowed the Philharmonic to express in a musical way the feelings of new beginnings that were made possible when the Allies successfully won the war.

The following pieces were performed by the South Netherlands Philharmonic accompanied by the Brabant Choir:

  • Olivier Messiaen: Chant des déportés
  • Antonin Dvořák: Symphony No. 9 "From the New World"
  • Leonard Bernstein: Chichester Psalms with a special performance from boy soprano Jérémie de Rijk
