Come to Cambridge American Cemetery May 27-28, 2017 to see the Faces of Cambridge. During this weekend you can walk these hallowed grounds, and see the faces of the men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the fight to liberate Europe during World War II.  More than 3.5 million Americans passed through the United Kingdom during the war, but thousands of them never returned home.

To coincide with the 75th anniversary of this “Friendly Invasion,” cemetery staff wanted a way to bring the memory of these service members to life. More than 4,000 photos of the fallen will be on display next to their headstone or name on the Tablets of the Missing that weekend.

With nearly 9,000 Americans honored at the cemetery, staff expect this to be an ongoing effort and are hopeful they can support this event in future years. This program echoes the concept of Faces of Margraten, which began a few years ago at Netherlands American Cemetery.

If you have a photo you would like to share for the event, email Cambridge@abmc.gov with a copy of the image.

Entrance to the cemetery and visitor center are free. All visitor services are free as well.
