Veterans Day 2014 at Manila American Cemetery

U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines Philip Goldberg laid a wreath in honor of the Embassy of the United States of America during the 2014 Veterans Day ceremony at Manila American Cemetery.

Manila American Cemetery hosted a Veterans Day Ceremony on November 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.

The ceremony program included:
• Arrival of guests and musical selections by Armed Forces of the Philippines Band
• Posting of colors by Armed Forces of the Philippines and U.S. Marine Corps Detachment
• Playing of Philippine and U.S. national anthems by Armed Forces of the Philippines Band
• Marking of the 11th hour and a moment of silence
• Invocation by Reverend Kenneth D. Fuller
• Welcome remarks by RimaAnn O. Nelson, director of the VA Manila Regional Office and Outpatient Clinic
• Recognition of veterans’ associations and members
• Remarks
• Keynote address by Gen. Gregorio Pio P. Catapang, Jr., Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff
• Ceremonial wreath laying
• Muffled drum rolls, firing salute, and “Taps” by Armed Forces of the Philippines Band
• Retirement of colors
