Initially listed as missing in action, non-recoverable or unidentifiable, Second Lieutenant Freeman's remains were recovered. He is interred in a "group burial site" at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO. 2LT Freeman's name is permanently inscribed on the Tablets of the Missing at the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, Manila, The Philippines.
