Notes
Captain Hamm was a member of the 390th Tactical Fighter Squadron, Danang Air Base, South Vietnam. On March 14, 1968, he was the pilot of a McDonnell Douglas Phantom II Fighter (F-4D) flying protective cover for a rescue operation 18 miles southwest of Hue, South Vietnam. On the fourth pass over the enemy his aircraft was hit and he ejected safely to the ground, where he was able to direct air strikes against the enemy until radio contact was lost. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
