Initially listed as missing in action, non-recoverable or unidentifiable, SSGT McKendrick's remains were recovered. He is interred at a group burial site at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO along with the remains of crew member 2LT Thomas E. Freeman. SSGT McKenrick's name is permanently inscribed on the Tablets of the Missing at the Manila American Cemetery, Manila, The Philippines.
