Master Sergeant Morales was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a member of Company D, 1st Battalion, 65th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division. On July 27, 1952, he suffocated when his bunker near Jan Jichon, North Korea collapsed while he was sleeping.
