Sergeant First Class Arthur was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a member of Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded in North Korea on November 30, 1950 and returned to duty on December 7, 1950. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy in South Korea on May 18, 1951 and died while a prisoner on July 31, 1951. His remains were recovered on July 12, 1993 and identified on December 3, 2008. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
