Corporal Gasquet was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a light machine gunner in the 3rd Platoon, Company G, 2nd Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. On November 26, 1950 near Kunu-ri, North Korea, he covered his platoon's withdrawal, by delivering accurate fire on the enemy while exposing himself to their fire. He was listed as Missing in Action and was presumed dead on December 31, 1953. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
