Sergeant Anderson was a member of Company A, 1st Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy near Yongon-Dong, North Korea on November 25, 1950. He died in a POW camp in North Korea on January 13, 1951 from malnutrition and pneumonia. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
