Corporal Barry was a member of Company H, 2nd Battalion, 5th Infantry Regimental Combat Team, which was attached to the 24th Infantry Division. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy near Ukkalgye, North Korea on April 23, 1951 and died while a prisoner on September 16, 1951. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
