Private First Class Baxter was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a member of Company C, 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. On August 14, 1952, without regard for his safety, he personally attacked a fortified enemy position near Chorwon, North Korea to relieve his company from enemy fire. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
