Private First Class Lucid was a member of the Heavy Mortar Company, 34th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. On July 20, 1950, as a part of a road block near Taejon, South Korea, he positioned a rocket launcher within ten yards of North Korean tanks and destroyed two. He was reported Missing in Action on August 6, 1950 and presumed dead on December 31, 1953. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
