Sergeant McKinney was a member of Battery D, 82nd Anti-Aircraft Artillery (Automatic Weapons) Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in South Korea on September 4, 1950 and returned to duty on September 13, 1950. He was seriously wounded again while fighting the enemy near Kunu-ri, North Korea on December 1, 1950 and died of those wounds on December 4, 1950. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
