Captain Peiffer served as an air-ground controller aboard an AT-6D Mosquito observation aircraft with the 6148th Tactical Air Control Squadron for Company K, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. On September 17, 1950, his aircraft became lost in the Pohang-Kigye Angang-ni area. He was presumed dead on March 16, 1954. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
