Private Perez was a member of Company E, 2nd Battalion, 279th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division. He was listed as Missing in Action when carried away by a flash flood while crossing the river near Inje, North Korea on August 18, 1952. He was presumed dead on December 31, 1953. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
