Private Schlotfeldt was a member of Company A, 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action by enemy machine gun fire while trying to recover a fish on the bank of a river in North Korea on August 1, 1952. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
