Corporal Boothroyd was a member of Headquarters Battery, 38th Field Artillery Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division. He was taken Prisoner of War while defending the withdrawal of U.S. Army forces near Kunu-ri, North Korea against overwhelming Chinese forces on November 30, 1950. He died while a prisoner on January 31, 1951. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
