Sergeant Torigian was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a member of Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 19th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy in South Korea on July 20, 1950. He was reportedly murdered in a tunnel near Sunchon, North Korea on October 20, 1950. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
