Corporal Yafrate was a truck driver with Service Company, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while his regiment was defending its position near Hangye, South Korea against massive Chinese forces on May 18, 1951. His truck was destroyed and his remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
