Sergeant Zawacki was a member of Company G, 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. He was listed as Missing in Action while fighting the enemy on the northern sector of the "Pusan Perimeter" in South Korea on August 16, 1950. He was presumed dead on February 17, 1954. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
