Sergeant Zuver was a decorated veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a Light Weapons Infantryman with Company K, 3rd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. On November 28, 1950, he was defending a hill near Parwon Myon, North Korea when his position was overrun. As his unit withdrew, he was mortally wounded in the chest from a mortar shell. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
