First Lieutenant Burns was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a member of Company H, 2nd Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy at "Outpost Old Baldy" in North Korea on August 30, 1952. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
