Sergeant Espey was a member of Company L, 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. He was declared as Missing in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on November 2, 1950 and was presumed dead on December 31, 1953. His remains were recovered on November 30, 1993 and identified on November 13, 2008. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
