Master Sergeant Roberts was a decorated veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was the First Sergeant of Company B, 1st Battalion, 19th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while defending a road junction leading to Pusan and Mason, South Korea called the "Notch" on August 2, 1950. At the time he was moving among his personnel directing the defense, when he was struck by an enemy round. |
