Master Sergeant Boggs was the Platoon Sergeant of the 3rd Platoon, Company A, 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. On September 6, 1952, while acting as forward observer at Hill 1052 (Sandbag Castle) in the Satae-ri Valley, North Korea when he was killed by an enemy 120mm mortar explosion. |
