Corporal Benn was a member of the 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded while fighting the enemy near Kunu-ri, North Korea on November 29, 1950 and was evacuated to the United States on February 7, 1951 to the Valley Forge Army Hospital. While on home leave he accidentally drowned in the Genesee River on July 21, 1951. |
