Private First Class Winnie was a member of the 19th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in South Korea on September 10, 1950 and returned to duty on September 19, 1950. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy in North Korea on November 18, 1950 and died while a prisoner on March 23, 1951. |
