Private Arcion was a member of Battery B, 26th Field Artillery Battalion stationed at Fort Dix, New Jersey. On August 20, 1951, he and ten fellow servicemen were loading into a 2-1/2 ton truck about one mile south of McGuire Air Force Base, when a T-33A Shooting Star fighter crashed nearby and its wing tank set the truck ablaze killing all servicemen on the ground. |
