During the Korean War Private First Class Winchester was a member of Headquarters Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division deployed at Camp Drum in upstate New York for winter parachute training. On January 15 1953, he was charge-of-quarters at an office building that caught fire. He was not able to escape safely. |
