Chief Quartermaster Parrish served aboard the ocean tug USS SARSI (AFT-111) in Korean waters. He was killed when his ship struck an enemy floating mine on August 27, 1952. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
