Hospital Corpsman Third Class Pope was a medic attached to the 1st Marine Division. He was Killed in Action while tending his wounded comrades in Korea on February 22, 1953. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
