Aviation Structural Mechanic Airman Nutt was a member of the crew of the aircraft carrier USS PRINCETON (CV-37). On June 6, 1951, he was on the carrier's flight deck when a F9F-3 Panther Jet fighter crashed into the after end of the deck, killing him, the pilot and another member of the ship's crew. |
