Lieutenant De Rose was a veteran of World War II. During the Korean War, he was a pilot aboard the aircraft carrier USS LEYTE (CV-32) being refitted at the Boston Navy Yard. He was killed by an explosion and fire in the port catapult machinery room aboard ship on October 16, 1953. |
