Quartermaster First Class Craver was a veteran of World War II. During the Korean War, he was a crew member of the destroyer-minesweeper USS HOBSON (DMS-26). While on night maneuvers in the mid-Atlantic on April 26, 1952, the USS HOBSON collided with the aircraft carrier, USS WASP. The HOBSON sank and 176 seamen were listed as missing. |
