Master Sergeant Babin was the radar observer of a F7F-3N Tigercat fighter with Marine Night Fighter Squadron 513, Marine Air Group 12, 1st Marine Air Wing. On November 30, 1951, while returning from a combat mission in bad weather, his aircraft crashed and burned near DR-1878, killing both crew members. |
