Captain Nadelhoffer was the pilot of a F4U-4 Corsair fighter with the Marine Fighter Squadron 212, Marine Air Group 12 aboard the carrier USS BADOENG STRAIT (CVE-116). On January 26, 1952, while flying over Hong-ga-ri, North Korea, his plane was hit by anti-aircraft fire. He ejected over Kirin-do Island but his parachute failed to open. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
