Captain Dodson was the pilot of a F4U-4 Corsair fighter with the Marine Fighter Squadron 312, Marine Air Group 12 aboard the aircraft carrier USS BAIROKO (CVE-115). On March 5, 1952, while on a combat mission near Taetan, North Korea, his aircraft was struck by anti-aircraft fire, lost its port wing and crashed. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
