Sergeant Wilcox was a member of Headquarters and Service Company, 1st Motorized Transportation Battalion, 1st Marine Division. On October 27, 1952, during the fierce battle for the "Hook Outpost", he was attached to the 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines. While successfully defending the outpost he was hit by enemy artillery fire. |
