Private First Class Armenta was a member of Company G, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division. He was listed as Missing in Action while fighting the enemy in Korea on July 25, 1953 and was presumed dead on July 26, 1954. His remains were recovered in 1955. Private First Class Armenta was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal. |
