Colonel Halton was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was the pilot of a F-51D Mustang night fighter with Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, 18th Fighter Bomber Wing, U.S. Air Force. On May 21, 1952, while on a combat mission, as he made a low altitude bomb run, the aircraft crashed. He was listed as Missing in Action and was presumed dead on December 31, 1953. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
