First Lieutenant Voss was the pilot of a F-84G Thunderjet fighter with the 429th Fighter-Bomber Squadron, 474th Fighter-Bomber Group. On July 16, 1953, while on a combat mission near Kujang-dong, Sinanju-Anju, North Korea, his aircraft received a direct hit by anti-aircraft fire and crashed. He was listed as Missing in Action and was presumed dead on July 17, 1954. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
