Captain Brose was a member of the 30th Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, 67th Tactical Reconnaissance Wing. On August 11, 1951, he was on temporary duty as the pilot of a F-80C Shooting Star fighter interceptor with the 16th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron, 51st Fighter-Interceptor Group. While on a combat mission over the Sunan area of North Korea, his aircraft received a direct hit by anti-aircraft fire and exploded. He was listed as Missing in Action and was presumed dead on December 31, 1953. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
