First Lieutenant Cronan was the pilot of a F-80C Shooting Star fighter interceptor with the 35th Fighter Bomber Squadron, 8th Fighter Bomber Group. On December 12, 1951, he was flying his aircraft in the area of Khuwa-ri, Korea in support of the Canadian 25th Brigade. His plane lost its wing tanks, rolled and crashed in the side of a mountain. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
