Lieutenant Colonel Williams was the pilot of a RF-86A Sabre Jet reconnaissance aircraft with the 15th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron, 67th Tactical Reconnaissance Wing. On June 27, 1952, while on a combat mission, his aircraft received a direct hit by anti-aircraft fire, crashed and exploded. He was not able to bailout successfully. |
