Master Sergeant Shady was a flight engineer on an experimental flight of a C-124 Globemaster originating from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. On hour into the flight the aircraft's propellers reversed pitch causing it to crash near New Castle, Indiana, killing three airmen and four civilians. |
