First Lieutenant Church was a crew member of a F-86F Sabre Jet fighter with the 12th Fighter Bomber Squadron, 18th Fighter Bomber Wing. On June 18, 1953, he was a passenger on a C-124A Globemaster transport traveling from Tachikawa Air Base, Japan to Korea. He was killed when the aircraft crashed about three miles from Tachikawa. |
