Major Adcock was a veteran of World War II. During the Korean War, he commanded the 375th Bomber Squadron, 308th Bomber Wing based at Hunter Air Force Base. On March 29, 1953, he was the pilot of a B-29 that departed from Lajes Field, Azores enroute to Hunter AFB. Shortly after takeoff it crashed near Praia, Terceira Island, Azores killing six airmen. |
