During the Korean War, Staff Sergeant Zaleski was assigned to the base commissary at Sampson Air Force Base at Geneva, New York. On February 24, 1954, he was a passenger on a truck carrying supplied from Syracuse to his base, when the truck skidded on the icy road and overturned killing him. |
